Bobby Perkinson of Alcoa, Tenn., a 4.4-handicap golfer, shot a net 69 (gross 74) on Friday to win the 2010 GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship at TPC Myrtle Beach. The 74-year-old retiree is the lowest handicap to win the event since Dennis Connors won it with a 3.3 handicap in 1995.

Wayne Hudson of Bremen, Ga. and Phillip Sanders, of Bartlett, Tenn., captured the 2009 International Pairs Championship by shooting a 135 net in Friday’s championship round, which included a one hole, sudden death playoff. Hudson and Sanders, who are cousins and three year tournament participants, won an all-expenses paid trip to St. Andrews to represent the United States in the 2010 International Pairs World Finals.

Linda Fuller of Richmond, Texas, a 16.8-handicap golfer, shot a net 66 Friday to win the 2009 PGA TOUR Superstore World Amateur Handicap Championship at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Fuller is the third consecutive female to win the championship and the wife of 26 year tournament participant Roger Fuller.

Sonny Hallman, from Lake City, S.C. and daughter Tanica Bell, from Erie, Pa., captured the third annual Cory Lemke Parent-Child Tournament at the 2009 PGA TOUR Superstore World Amateur Handicap Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C., August 31 – September 4. The father-daughter team shot a net 569 during the four rounds to win the Cory Lemke Parent-Child Tournament that honors the memory of past World Am participant Cory Lemke, who tragically lost his life in a July 2006 motorcycle accident at the age of 19.

August 29, 2008, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Paula Morton of Greenbrier, Tenn., a 20.6 handicap golfer from Greenbrier, Tenn., shot a net 67 Friday to win the 2008 PGA TOUR Superstore World Amateur Handicap Championship at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The 2004 Centex Villa Quest winner entered the 18th hole tied with Percy Hayes of Granbury, Texas at four-under-par. After her third shot on hole No. 18 found the lake guarding the front of the green, Morton took a drop and a penalty stroke and chipped in from 75 yards out to win the title of “World’s Amateur Champion. Morton is the fourth woman champion in the 25-year history of the World Am and follows 2007 World Am champion June Wang as back-to-back female champions.
