aboutGolf Simulators Bring Real Golf Indoors
Play real golf indoors? Impossible. Not with aboutGolf? aboutGolf will provide the most realistic indoor golf experience in the world for participants of the GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship.
aboutGolf, makers of the world’s most technologically advanced golf simulators, are bringing a pair of simulators to the World’s Largest 19th Hole, one that will be positioned on the main stage for long drive exhibitions and the other on the floor. World Am participants will be able to compete in a closest to the pin contest on the simulator on the convention center floor at the Know Your Score experience.
What distinguishes aboutGolf’s simulators from the competition is its machine vision technology. Translated into laymen’s terms, aboutGolf uses a 3-D photography system and a complex set of physics algorithms to provide a level of accuracy and realism that is exceeded only by an actual golf course.
The aboutGolf simulators take every facet of the game into account. A player that hits a tree will be the recipient of a bounce (here come those physics algorithms again) that reasonably approximates what would occur the course.
The aboutGolf simulator, which comes in three models, can be as big as 15 feet wide by 20 feet long by 10 feet six inches high. The system also utilizes PGA TOUR software to transport the user to 29 different courses.
The official simulator of the PGA Tour, aboutGolf is also used by the Golf Channel.

do we have to sign up to play on the game ahead of time or this a first come bases.
The simulator will be used for a closest to the pin contest to benefit the Know Your Score: Fight Prostate Cancer campaign.
Dear Sir: I would like to receive information on where I can purchase a golf simulator, as you mentioned in your article. Yours truly, George Rendon Jr.
This article is absolutely telling you the truth. I, myself, have traveled to Maumee, Ohio, where they are based out of in Ohio. The people I met are very nice and very professional. There product is exactly what I wanted for my indoor golf center. While I was at their place of business, I tried out all their simulators and launch monitors. Top of the line is almost an understatement. The PGA Tour Classic simulator is as close to feeling like your actually playing outdoors. Your not only hitting into a screen, but you are surrounded on both sides by screens also, which project the course you decide to play. Take, for example, Pebble Beach. Imagine hitting the ball on #18 and actually seeing the ocean spray coming off the rocks on your left. Actually hearing the breeze blowing off the ocean while your playing. About Golf Simulators are the closest thing to real golf..indoors..that I've seen.
Another product they have is the PGA Tour Surround Sound Simulator. This simulator is larger than the PGA Tour Classic. It is a great tool for teaching, along with being able to play courses on it also.
In closing, I just have to say that the product I experienced was great. At the end of my day at Maumee Ohio, I was sold on the About Golf Products. We are now in the process of putting everything together and plan to open 1/1/11. Make sure you try this product while your at the World Amateur Handicap Championships. I'm sure you will feel the same way I did.

Do you play a full round or just one hole? Aso do you have to sighn up ahead of time?
It's gorgeous and looks like it would be great to play, but for indoor golf play, I love the $40 Chicken Stick, which will be debuting at the World Am's 19th Hole. Chicken Stick is designed to enhance the way golf is played on the Wii® and, when played with Tiger Wood PGA Tour® 11, the user gets real time feedback with an actual golf swing, not simply an interpretation of waving around a remote control. Go by and check it out! www.badchicken.com
