Trick Shot Artist, Long Drive Champion To Appear at 19th Hole
The entertainment lineup at the World’s Largest 19th Hole has a couple new additions that will bring stories of survival, skill and strength.
Renowned trick shot artist Ben Witter and long-drive champion Tom Garber will be featured performers at the 19th Hole and both first-timers will bring unique shows to the tournament. Witter, a former collegiate star who aspired to play on the PGA Tour, will amaze tournament participants with his array of trick shots (watch this video!) but his story, for reasons beyond being able to clobber a golf ball while standing on a medicine ball, will inspire.
Witter’s dream of playing at golf’s highest level ended when he was diagnosed with a rare form of salivary gland cancer in 1988. He beat the disease and redirected his passion into golf instruction. Using his keen understanding of the game, Witter became an instructor and trick shot performer, launching Ben’s Power Golf.
The same fundamentals that allow Witter to effectively teach the game, also allow him to hit 20-foot drivers ! Witter’s show has to be seen to be believed. He will be performing at the World Am on Monday and Tuesday nights.
Garber will bring a staggering swing speed of 136 mph to the World Am stage on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Garber, whose longest drive in competition is 393 yards, is a two-time Re/Max World Long Drive Championship Finalist, and he has qualified for the 2009 event.
The 2008 Atlantic Coast Regional Senior Champion, Garber isn’t just a one dimensional bomber. His handicap hasn’t been above two in 23 years.
Garber will reveal some of his secrets to hitting a golf ball nearly as far as any many on earth at the 19th Hole.
