Dunes Club To Host World Championship Playoff

Sure, the World Amateur is all about a good time, camaraderie and the opportunity to compete like a pro for 72 holes. But everyone that registers for the tournament dreams of advancing to Friday’s World Championship Playoff, an 18-hole shootout that crowns that tournament’s champion. 

In 2009, the world champion will again be crowned at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club, Myrtle Beach’s most revered course. A Robert Trent Jones design, the Dunes Club is a member of every substantive list of America’s Top 100 public courses.

World Am Live Entertainment Set

From Caribbean music and top 40 hits to last year’s most popular band, the nightly entertainment lineup for the World’s Largest 19th Hole has been solidified.

Three new bands will grace the World Am Live stage in 2009, joining last year’s favorite act, The Tim Clark band.

Playing music from the 1970s through today’s biggest hits, The Tim Clark band has grown into one of the popular bands in the Southeast, and it will open the festivities at World Am Live Monday night. The Tim Clark band was a runaway hit at last year’s tournament.

Tuesday night, the first new band will bring its unique sound to the stage. A three-piece band, Island Trio plays a wide variety of music which expands from traditional calypso, beach and reggae, to rock and roll. So find your loudest Hawaiian shirt, get yourself a tropical frozen drink, and get ready to enjoy the exciting sounds of The Island Trio.
